What it is like
Vilano Beach sits across the inlet from the main beaches and is reached by its own bridge. It is residential rather than resort: a short commercial strip, a fishing pier, and a long stretch of sand that rarely feels crowded even in season.
There is less around it than on Anastasia Island, so you will drive for a supermarket and for most restaurants. In exchange the beach in front of you is emptier.
Downtown is about twelve minutes over the bridge, which makes Vilano one of the easier bases for seeing the old town without staying in it.
