What it is like
Crescent Beach runs south along A1A below St. Augustine Beach. It is lower density than anywhere else on this coast: fewer buildings, wider sand, and long stretches where the only thing in front of you is dune.
That quiet is the reason it is cheaper. There is no walkable strip of restaurants and no supermarket around the corner, so you drive for dinner and for groceries. If your plan is to be on the beach most of the day and cook in the evening, that trade barely registers. If you wanted to stroll to a bar at nine, it will grate.
Downtown St. Augustine is about twenty minutes up the road, which makes it an easy day trip rather than an evening stroll.
| Good for | Families who want sand and space and do not mind the car. |

| Not for | Anyone expecting to walk to dinner. |
| Downtown | About 20 minutes by car |
